Activities Director

Vineland, NJ

**Full Time position in Assisted Living with weekends required**

Director of Activities Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize a monthly calendar of activities appropriate for the interests and needs of our residents in Assisted Living.
  • Plan, schedule and conduct programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for our residents in our community.
  • Facilitate all community planned functions and help coordinate the event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down for the event.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment for the Activity Department.
  • Organize, plan and arrange special events, parties, & programs.
  • Arrange regular monthly entertainment, birthday parties, & new resident welcome events.
  • Supervise and maintain an active volunteer program.
  • Participate in monthly Resident Council meetings; take meeting minutes.
  • Decorate the interior common areas on a monthly basis, in accordance with season and/or holiday.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) for planned activities and events.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Activity Professional through NCCAP preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in assisted living working with memory care patients preferred.
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to encourage and motivate older adults.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated creative ability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must enjoy working with the senior population.
